The variety comes from the Italian region of Mantova and is well suited for summer and autumn harvest. The white, large tubers reach a weight of up to 500 g and are versatile. The taste is sweet, aromatic and somewhat reminiscent of anise. The fennel herb can also be used, for example, for seasoning.
